Home Inspection Carolina has been mold testing since 2015. In that time, we have personally trained all of our inspectors in the process. With yearly refresher courses for all inspectors, we gurantee our mold test to be accurate.
Mold in a home may not always be visible. It can hide behind walls, under floors, or in your ventilation. One sure way to make sure your home is free of harmful molds is to have a mold test done along with your home inspection. Ask about our mold tests when scheduling your home Inspection today.
There are a lot of different types of molds causing potential health effects. Symptoms associated with mold exposures include allergic reactions, asthma, and other respiratory complaints. There is no practical way to eliminate all mold and mold spores in an indoor environment. The only way to control mold growth indoors is to find the source of the moisture and correct the problem.
Molds can be found almost anywhere and need 3 things to grow: water, air, and a food source. If you take any of the three away it can no longer grow. This does not mean it will go away though, because mold can remain dormant. If sources of water, air, and food are reintroduced, it can begin growing again unless it has been completely removed.
At Home Inspection Carolina, we can test your home to determine the types of molds that are present, helping you determine the course of actions need to remediate the problem. Our mold tests consist of three separate tests. One test can include either two air samples and a swab, or 3 swabs. When taking air samples, it’s important to include two because you need to separately test the indoor and outdoor air.
